Homes Located in Wiggin Street Elementary School District
Situated on the beautiful campus of Kenyon College in Gambier, Wiggin Street Elementary is the oldest facility in the Mount Vernon City School district. Because of its proximity to Kenyon College, Wiggin Street Elementary benefits from waves of enthusiastic college-aged volunteers. The Wiggin Street Elementary school recently won the local “Battle of the Books” competition; a nationwide reading incentive program that encourages kids in third through twelfth grade to read more throughout the year. The Wiggin Street Jump-Rope Team performed at half-time for several Kenyon College and Mount Nazarene basketball games. Parents are encouraged to get involved in event planning, field trips, and fundraising by joining the “Friends of Wiggin Street” organization. This parent-community organization is open to all parents for the benefit of the school and its students. With only 250 students in attendance at Wiggin Street Elementary, class size remains small, meaning students get the attention and direction they need.
